Old Phuket Town

IMG_1001

On our last full day in Thailand, we ventured into Old Phuket Town and thoroughly reveled in the old Sino-Portuguese and Sino-Colonial architecture, the various fabric shops along Thalang Road, a quick trip into a street-side temple, a handful of art galleries, and a delicious meal served up by 75-year-old Abdul, whose modest restaurant specialized in one dish: roti and chicken curry (goat curry on Tuesdays). In researching more about Old Phuket Town, I was delighted to know that Abdul has his small share of fame on CNN’s travel website! Rich in history, culture, people, art, and food, Old Phuket Town was a wondrous way to spend our last day.
